Top 5 Reasons Why A Job Fails Preflight

1. Halftone images are NOT to Victor Graphics specifications.
The Shadow dot must be no darker than 90% and the
highlight dot no lighter than 3%.

2. Low Resolution or missing graphics.
    Graphic files must be included.
Halftones must be 300dpi and Line Art must be 600dpi.

3. Missing fonts, partial fonts, and unembedded fonts.
Often only the screen font or only the PostScript font is sent in.

BOTH the screen font AND the PostScript font must be sent in. All fonts in the pdf     document must be embedded. Please double check files by viewing both the     Adobe Distiller windows after dropping your PostScript for font errors AND by     viewing the final pdf in Adobe Acrobat. In Adobe Acrobat, open the pdf file and go to     the file drop down menu. Select Document Properties and click the fonts tab to view     the status of the fonts. The list in this window should contain all fonts used in the     document followed by the words EMBEDDED OR EMBEDDED SUBSET. Victor     Graphics CANNOT fix fonts with PDF files.

4. Foot margin doesn't meet Victor Graphics specifications.
Victor Graphics requires 5/16" on most jobs.
If the job is run on the Timson then 1/4" is okay.

5. PDF sent with no bleed.
There must be a 1/8" bleed all the way around.
