The basysPrint system is designed specifically for imaging plates that will be used on web and large-format sheetfed presses. It contains two ultraviolet (UV) exposure heads, which improves imaging speed and allows multiple jobs to be processed simultaneously. At Victor Graphics, the basysPrint will image plates from files on the company’s Artworks Nexus RIP system.
“We installed the basysPrint CTP system to reduce production time on text printing applications,” said David Gischel, Vice President of Manufacturing at Victor Graphics. “We’ve been using a PressTek computer-to-plate system for cover printing for more than three years, so this is a natural extension for us. We’re already seeing significant production improvements, which will be passed to our customers in the form of faster turnaround times.”
More News From Victor Graphics: In addition to the basysPrint CTP system, Victor Graphics has also recently installed a Muller Martini Presto six-pocket saddle stitching system. This machine offers enhancements such as a cover feeder and inline trimming for efficient production.
“These installations strengthen the bookend operations of our prepress and postpress departments,” said Thomas H. Hicks, President. “They also represent kept promises to our customers, who have asked us for new solutions in these areas.”
